Got Questions - We’ve Got Answers.
How fit do I need to be?
You don’t need to be very fit. The eBikes do most of the work, especially on hills. If you’re comfortable cycling on country roads for 2–3 hours with lots of breaks, you’ll be grand. The afternoon tours are easier; the morning tours are a longer but manageable for most people.
How tall do I need to be?
We generally recommend a minimum height of 148cm (4ft 10”), but it depends on leg length and comfort on the bike.
What age do children need to be?
Children usually need to be around 11–12 to safely handle an eBikes on their own. Younger children can travel on the rear of our Multi-tinker cargo bike.
Are the tours suitable for beginners?
To a point, many guests haven’t cycled in years. We show you how everything works before setting off and keep a relaxed pace throughout.
Can I bring my own bike?
These tours are designed around our premium pedal assisted fleet. You’re welcome to bring your own, but let us know in advance. In almost all cases, guests use our Riese & Müller eBikes as they’re best suited to the terrain.
What if it rains?
We go ahead in light rain, which is part of the West Cork experience. If conditions are unsafe (rare), we’ll reschedule or refund. A light rain jacket is recommended.
Is Irish spoken on the tour?
Yes, some is spoken in a natural and accessible way. Tours are in English, with Irish words and placenames woven in and explained as we go.
