Rooted in the long Irish tradition of the scéalaí or storyteller, Conor Ó Buachalla shares stories that are inseparable from the places where they are told. Based in West Cork, and drawing deeply on his home parish of Gleann Bearcháin agus Mhíros / Castlehaven & Myross, Conor’s storytelling is shaped by landscape, placenames, memory and lived tradition.

Through private storytelling sessions and workshops, he gently unveils the layered world of Irish mythology, folklore and local history, allowing stories to emerge from cliffs, fields, bóithríní and shorelines rather than from books alone. Local Irish words and expressions are woven naturally into the telling, not as performance, but as part of how the place has always been understood and spoken about.

Whether shared around a table, on a short walk, or as part of a gathering, these are stories of place, told in the landscapes that shaped them. In keeping with local tradition, Conor Ó Buachalla’s stories range from local characters from days gone-by, "the other-crowd" to the legendary doings of local saints and sinners. They may touch on darker moments at times, but they are always entertaining, often very funny, and deeply human.
